It works because I was able to boot up and it got me out of a jam this morning for sure. I had to select a password for root, add the users, select the type of internet connection, set the display, and select to a few other options I wanted. I think it cannot read the CD drive because it is calling it /dev/hdc/, but I cannot figure out how to change it to /dev/cdrom. It appears to be a DMA issue for me though, as my kernel logs start saying things about being unable to configure DMA on my burner during the burn.
