- Restarted it after some Toshiba updates and now it states Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key.
- Now all I get is the Toshiba screen, and I can't do anything from there.

Then I followed your instructions from 6 - 12 and everything is working fine now. You may get a better answer to your question by starting a new discussion. This worked like a charm. I can't get into windows or anything.

I have tried pressing F12 to enter the boot menu, and or f2 to enter setup but have been unable to enter either. When I was greeted with the black screen, I thought maybe CTRL+ALT+DEL would work and sure enough, it did! It is very odd that it will not boot to anything at all. It usually takes 15-20mins of hard shutdowns/restarts before it actually boots.

All my sysrep diagnostics and chkdsk seem to be reporting that's the problem, but there doesn't seem to be any consistency as to when it decides to seppuku itself...
